Catholic Schools Day - What Weka is doing?

As part of the celebration of Catholic Schools Day this week, Weka Room is planning to clean up the walkway on Wednesday along with Hoiho and Kereru classes.  On Friday, we are making bottle bricks.  Plastic bottles are stuffed with plastic and paper rubbish until they are compressed like bricks.  These bricks are used around the world to build benches, houses and school buildings.  The bricks we make on Friday are being donated to a project at the Victory Community Garden.
Could children please bring along plastic bottles (not milk bottles) with lids and plastic type rubbish to go inside e.g. plastic bags, wrappers, shiny paper, receipts, twist ties, bread bag twists and so on.  As a class we will be collecting our own rubbish including lunchbox wrappers (no food).
